Today is actually Day 58 but while we were in Florida we didn't have wi-fi and we were much too tired to blog. We also didn't want to write short blurbs because so much happened and Tyler had such a fun time at Walt Disney World, hanging out with his cousins, and meeting all of his favorite characters. So I'm going to do my best to remember our favorite moments. I'm going to do a lot of blogging...
Our first full Florida day was spent with the "big kids." Tyler stayed at the resort with his cousins Perry and Mala and the grandmas. Me, Ryan and Linh joined Andy and Natasha at Universal Studio's Islands of Adventure. Since Ryan and I's trip back in 2008 the theme park had added the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and all I wanted was a turkey leg and butterbeer. I had seen one of my friend's pictures a while back and she recommended those two items specifically and I got them both!!
Ryan and I are roller coaster fiends. Linh used to be scared when we were younger but now he's game for any roller coaster we throw at him. Andy and Natasha, on the other hand, were very, very nervous. Our first roller coaster of the day was what used to be called Dueling Dragons and has been Potterfied into Dragon Challenge. Andy especially was super anxious. But he did it and then afterwards he was pumped for the next and the next and the next!
We managed to hit 7 different rides that day including two water rides in which we got soaked. It was also our first time meeting Andy and Natasha and they are so great, we can't wait for them to visit in April! Hopefully Andy won't get stuck in school over spring break (++++++++++8 (that was Tyler's contribution, he's too cute so I'm keeping it there) due to all the school they've missed because of the snow. Otherwise Natasha will be juggling two kids on a 6 hour flight by herself. She's pretty sure she can handle it, and I know she's perfectly capable, but it won't be easy. It wasn't easy keeping Tyler happy with the two of us. More on that later.
While Mommy and Daddy were riding roller coasters, Tyler was hanging out at the pool and then taking Jacuzzi baths. He was having a nice, relaxing day after a long day of travel.
We then met up with everybody for dinner and had planned on going to the Rainforest Cafe. When we got there we were informed it was a 2 hour wait and they didn't take phoned in reservations. It was already 7, there was no way we were starving the babies (and ourselves) for two hours so we ended up getting barbecue at a restaurant that was able to fit in all 13 of us (Craig, Maureen, and Emily had made it to Florida by then). We didn't get home until late and I don't believe Tyler went to bed until sometime after 11 but it was a great first day.
Some more Harry Potter pictures:
And of course, our daily picture:
When we finally got home we found that our building and the building next to us lost power. So here is our first family photo in the dark! We ended up watching a movie on the tablet and then falling asleep. The power came back on about two hours later. It was a fantastic day.
