TGIF.
Despite the half day on Tuesday and the day off on Wednesday, these last two days have been the longest two days ever. It may have had something to do with the fact that we had 250 calls yesterday for our Heart Healthy screening spread between just three people. And that's on top all the other calls I take on a daily basis.
Needless to say, I was very happy to get home. And this is why:
He's clutching "The Sound of Music" by the way. I'm starting them young.
Tonight we had a family dinner around a meal of cheese ravioli in mushroom marinara, salad, green beans, and French bread. Tyler also had oranges in jello.
We also read his favorite book. After Mommy read it a couple of times, Tyler took the book and turned the pages for her. At the right moments. My baby's a genius!!
I love family time. I really hope we can continue this as Tyler grows up. That we won't be too busy to cook dinners together, too obsessed with our cell phones, too tired to actually spend time together.
So this weekend I'm dedicating it to...
- Going to the library and checking out Tyler's favorite books
- A trip to Salem for Babies R Us and the carousel if I can persuade Ryan to go...
- Dancing the night away
- Making homemade pho for the first time
- Family nap time
Because the family that naps together, stays together!
Speaking of the library, I need some new books to read. I have a couple of interests:
The Goldfinch
By Donna Tartt
A young boy survives a terrorist attack that kills his mother. To escape being taken in by the city as an orphan he scrambles between friends' houses and the city streets clutching to the one thing that reminds him of his mother, a painting that he stole from the museum after the attack.
Horns
By Joe Hill
After a drunken night of terrible things, a young man wakes up to find that horns have sprouted on his head.
The Valley of Amazement
By Amy Tan
A novel that maps the lives of three generations of women connected by blood and history--and the mystery of an evocative painting known as "The Valley of Amazement."
I would definitely appreciate any more recommendations.
And now, some outtakes!
Good night folks. I hope you all had a wonderful Friday with your families as well!

We make pho all the time!! It's a super easy recipe. Although, I doubt it's very authentic....
ReplyDeleteWe need that recipe! We didn't make it today, we made curry turkey burgers instead, but Ryan wants to make it tomorrow! Authentic is not necessary, just as long as it's yummy!!
Delete...And I just realized that I'm signed in as Ryan. Obviously this is Tammy. :)
