Nap. Check, check, check!!!
Today Mommy took a 3 hour nap. And it was glorious. Thank you, Ryan and Tyler, for letting me sleep for so long. I probably could have used another three hours. I did not want to get up. This also explains the state of my hair for our daily photo:
But we had a nice, productive day! This morning Ryan, Barb and I went to Ray's on what could possibly be the last day of their store closing sale. There wasn't much left but we ended up spending about $35 and got 20 greeting cards, a box of individually wrapped straws with Pepsi's logo on it, a big box of Halloween treat bags that we plan on using for years on end, 8 cans of tomatillos (I see a lot of enchiladas in our future), some OSU Beaver gear, candy, and other things my brain can't remember at 11:00 at night. I'm a mom now, this is way past my bedtime. I sleep when the baby sleeps.
We also went to Safeway to spend $50 to use our $10 off coupon. We ended up spending well over $100. It's a good thing we didn't go to Costco.
And Tyler finally got to watch "The Sound of Music" for the first time! Grandma Barb had never seen it either, her first Sound of Music experience was Carrie Underwood's televised special. That's just wrong. Hands down my favorite part of this morning was catching Tyler and Grandma Barb dancing to "The Lonely Goatherd." Grandma Barb put her hands on her head and twirled and Tyler promptly copied her. I love my dancing baby!!!
On a not so happy note, Tyler had his biggest injury so far tonight. He was getting tired so he grabbed my hand and started leading me towards the stairs to go to his room. All of a sudden we stopped and he was in the midst of turning around so he let go of my hand and then fumbled for it and somehow lost his balance. He landed with a loud thump on the back of his head. I scooped him up immediately but the damage had been done. I have never seen him cry so hard! I nearly cried along with him. It was a really loud thump! Grandma Geri was worried about a concussion so we kept him up for a while afterwards and I wonder if he has a bit of a headache because it was difficult getting him to go back to sleep. We finally brought him into our room so he could sleep in the "big bed." He finally fell asleep about half an hour ago. But it was the saddest thing to see that baby cry. He knows how to use that bottom lip. Just thinking about it hurts my heart. I might turn into a helicopter mom. I hovered over him quite a bit afterwards.
By the way, has anyone else seen that Downton Abbey quiz? Apparently I'm Thomas. I call shenanigans.
Good night kids. Enjoy this close-up of a curious Tyler.
